Spinal Stenosis
Relief from Spinal Stenosis Pain in Little Rock at Little Rock Spinal Decompression
Spinal Stenosis is a narrowing of the spinal column. The spinal cord goes through the spinal column through a tunnel called the spinal or neural canal. When a person is experiencing Degenerative Disc Disease, they will have some degree of spinal stenosis (narrowing) by default.
The facet joints can enlarge and erode as part of the arthritic process accelerates. When they go through the process (called hypertrophy), they can cause narrowing of the spinal canal and put pressure on the spinal cord.
The ligaments (called the ligamentum flava), enlarge as part of the severe degenerative changes that occur with Degenerative Disc Diesease. As this happens, they can encroach upon the spinal cord and crowd the space that the cord travels through.
As the Spinal Column goes through degeneration, it causes the discs to compress and flatten. The discs serve as cushions between the bones in the spine and when they are compressed, the nerves can get pinched that go into the arms or legs. When the nerves get pinched, it can cause a range of symptoms including tingling, numbness, achiness, sharp pain, shooting pain, dull pain, and weakness into the arms and legs.
When the discs flatten and compress, they become dehydrated and are more susceptible to having a bulge or becoming herniated. A herniated or a bulging disc then can push out into the spinal canal and put pressure on the front side of the spinal cord. In extreme cases, it can flatten the spinal cord. This is an example of spinal stenosis caused by a disc.
Usually, spinal stenosis is caused by a combination of the 3 listed above. The only one of the 3 that is treatable with spinal decompression is the 3rd which involves the disc. It is important to note that by helping the disc material go back to the center of the disc, the pressure can be relieved off of the spinal cord and be enough to provide significant relief of the symptoms caused by spinal stenosis. It is also important to understand that spinal stenosis caused by disc issues will be decreased in those situations and the health of the disc material will be improved. This in turn, will slow down the degeneration of the other 2 causes of stenosis which are the facet joints and ligamentum flava hypertrophy.
It makes sense to help the spine stay healthy through usining spinal decompression with the DRX9000.
